"The Legend of Ngong Ping Highland Tea" Guided Tour (I)

The guided tour will be held at the former Ngong Ping Tea Estate, the only expansive tea plantation in the area, established by the esteemed Mr. Brook Bernacchi, a former Queen's Counsel known for his significant contributions to the island's development and welfare. At its peak, the Tea Estate covered approximately 60 acres and was famous for its "Lotus Brand Tea," primarily sold locally, with limited exports available upon special request. Our docent will guide participants on-site, sharing insights from the research project "The Legend of Ngong Ping Highland Tea", telling the story of the evolution of the tea production, and introducing the cultural significance behind the tea plantation.
