LCF Lantau Wetland Ecological Education and Outreach Program - Lantau Freshwater Wetland Photography Competition Public Webinar and Activity Promotion

To motivate the public to visit the various wetlands present in Lantau Island, Hong Kong, and to foster an understanding and appreciation of the freshwater ecology and biodiversity of aquatic insects in the region. The "Lantau Wetland Ecological Education and Outreach Program" is organizing the competition with the theme "Lantau Wetlands - Beyond the Water", which includes two categories: "Landscape" and "Ecology". Participants are encouraged to immerse themselves in the freshwater wetland environments of Lantau Island and capture the exquisite beauty of the landscape and the intriguing behavior of aquatic insects through photography.

To coincide with the aforementioned competition, OWLHK will hold a webinar featuring local freshwater ecology expert, Dr. Ken So Ying-kin, who will introduce the aquatic insect's ecology and biodiversity on Lantau Island to the public. The aim is to enhance the public's knowledge and understanding of the competition theme – aquatic insects, encourage more people to learn about the freshwater wetland ecology and environment of Lantau Island, and participate in the competition.
